Clean safe park experience with kiddos. Went to the playground by the tennis courts. There was a porta potty we used which had a nice big spiderweb in it 🕷️🕸️ but Halloween is approaching so I guess ‘tis the season. We were visiting Thornton and were looking for a nice park to kill time at and I would love to come back and walk the lake at some point.
Great place to go for a walk. Plenty of wildlife to see and have a seat on one of the benches to peacefully take it all in & reflect. Maybe a good idea to put some bug spray on.
This is a hidden gem. There are plenty of lakes and parks in the vicinity. This one just has more in it. The lake and path are great, but the scenery is outstanding. It’s like a small bird sanctuary. There is a small wall structure that looks nice for a picnic, rest stop, read a book, or have a small fellowship with friends. Just be careful at night. Nature shows up
As of 8/17/21 the trail is fully opened again!There’s a 1.4 mile loop that circles the lake.I’ve been walking here in my lunch break for 4 years now, it’s a great place to take a short walk.I’ve seen all sorts of birds, dozens of really cool species. Turtles, frogs, snakes, and even coyote.Amazing views of the continental divide on clear days.On the South East corner there are also tennis courts, a children’s playground, and horseshoe pits.
It’s serene and beautiful. There’s about a mile loop around the park for people to walk or bike. There’s also a wooden path located on the marsh that cuts through the middle of the park. It’s a lovely view of tall fall- colored grass. There are multiple benches scattered throughout for sitting and enjoying the scenery. You’ll see lots of bunnies and various kinds of birds. You can also go down by the lake and watch the ducks float on the water.
