FAQ for The DogFather Behavioral and Training Center in Laporte Colorado:
My family’s got 3 incredibly difficult dogs who are all difficult in surprisingly different ways. My mom met Mike a while ago, and recommended we see him for training, and it’s made a night-and-day difference with all 3. From individual training, to group training, to boarding, Mike’s the only person I’ll ever take my pup to when I just need some help. He’s great at improving me as a responsible dog owner, while helping make my dog more comfortable and confident to cut down on nerves-based reactivity. He’s also a phenomenal wealth of resources for all things dog-related. Because of how difficult my Salem is, I struggled to find her a vet that would handle her alright. Mike recommended a favorite of his, and I was impressed from the get-go.
Mike is an extremely talented trainer. He assisted me with 2 of my German Shepherds. One was a very anxious dog and the other a young, rambunctious boy. He helped them become well adjusted members of the family.Mike actually came to my assistance during an emergency situation. One of my other shepherds was in an accident that caused a severe break in one of her front legs and I needed to rush her to our vet who happened to live quite a distance away for surgery. Mike was scheduled to take my young boy for training a few weeks later but he arranged his schedule to take my boy early so I could concentrate on my injured girl. I couldn’t have made it through that time without him.I would recommend DogFather to anyone who needs assistance with whatever breed they have and whatever training they need.
We had a great experience with the DogFather. Mike helped us with a very reactive Belgian Shepherd who had several behavioral concerns. He trained us well to work with her and set us on a good path.Highly recommend!!
Mike is a great trainer. He not only trained my dogs, but gave me the knowledge I needed to continue training them. He has the knowledge and training skills. I was very impressed and you will not be disappointed.
Mike gave us all of the tools to be constructive and disciplined dog owners. Our puppy responded just as he said she would with proper training and consistency. Worth every penny and then some. We plan to have him come back for follow-up and more intense training in the near future.
