FAQ for Sunrise Park in Johnstown Colorado:
Is this park seriously closed on the weekends?!?! I was excited to take my 4 year old to a new parks, only to realize it was closed on a Saturday!! I don’t know how that’s supposed to be a park for kids, when they’re in school during the week. Is this actually right? We just moved to Colorado and with this park being one of very few that is close to us, it was disappointing!!
Decided to take my 16 month old son to this park after some grocery shopping. We hop out of the truck to find our first surprise.Whatever.Walk a few feet and head to the park only to find our second surprise. My son is instantly amused and wants me to play with it.Super. 🤮🤮Plus the slide had dried vomit allOver it and there was trash all over the playground and grass area.
A nice quiet park for younger kids. It’s out of the way and google seems to not really know how to get there. You do have to be careful the kids don’t run off to become children in the corn. The kids did find drug paraphernalia once in one of the trees though.
I absolutely love bringing my dog (golden doodle) to this park. We play fetch, and I always make sure to keep her on a 30 foot leash just in case she runs off. However, today a police woman came over and said that they have been getting complaints of off leash dogs. So we cannot play fetch there anymore. I didn’t see any signs about it by the field that we play on, so it was surprising.Great park, but definitely a bummer that we can’t play fetch with our golden doodle here.
Nicely maintained park. Two playgrounds and three covered gazebos.
