FAQ for Buffalo Ridge Park in Haltom City Texas:
I love this lil neighborhood park. It’s a very relaxing place to spend a few hours. It has plenty of parking, a covered pavillion, restrooms, a playground, settings, basketball hoop, picnic tables and benches throughout. The main concrete walking path is very wide and branches off into three directions for multiple views and uses. It’s a very natural looking park where they seem Intent to let nature be nature. There is a wood bridge over a small creek and further down the trail there is a concrete bridge crossing a wider creek.
Been to this park more than a few times, playground is nice. The trail is pretty cool with a basketball court and swings along the trail. The creek is lovely, although it was very dried up today. On my way back to the front of the park to the playground , we turn the corner coming from the creek and spotted a coyote about 20ft away near the red swings! It paid no attention to us and quickly ran through the trees. Never thought I’d spot one here.
Beautiful waking/running/biking path most of which is in the woods. Pretty creek—raging river if it has rained a lot!—lovebit!
Great place to walk dogs. Paved paths and dirt paths that lead off the main path.
This is a really nice park. They are doing construction on the baseball field, but the rest of the park is great. Nice paved trails, mostly shaded, outdoor basketball court, nice playground, many picnic tables scattered along the trail with paving up to and under the tables so a wheel chair could go there. There was a nice group of picnic tables under a nice room for bad weather and nice restrooms at the parking lot. The trails connect the park to many other areas along the Big Fossil Creek river.
