Plenty of parking, but no restrooms. Leashed dogs allowed. There’s a dog station and a water fountain. The path is about half a mile long—took us around 15 minutes at a relaxed pace. Paved walkways with a few short trails branch off. Educational boards along the path, and there are a few benches and covered picnic tables throughout. The only downside: the flies were extremely annoying.
Nice paved trail, very short loop. Lots of information to read as you go around. Dogs allowed and has a poop station with bags and a garbage which is nice.
2/23/22Great place to take a short walk…Half mile or so in length with paved and hard packed dirt and grass trails…Not a lot of bugs…Doggie bags and water fountain…Free parking…Very quiet..
Attn. Revision Used to be ..Awesome trails. Wish it was bigger. Attn. Again it’s a revision. They have completely mowed all the trees down all around the trails. Not only that but now a couple of the tortoise burrows are gone. Bulldozed the trees And covered over two Gopher Tortoise burrows. That I. know of. I’m unsure of the motive behind it. But it’s just a paved trail for mosquitoes to feast. The machines have created ares that retain water in alot of trail. No walking on it riding a bike without boots.
Cool little trail in the heart of Pine Island just past Phillips Park & the Fire Station… Take a walk on the paved section or venture off onto the unpaved Dr Mauney Trail… Careful after a rain as the trails will be underwater… Also, bring some bug spray so you can enjoy your walk and not swatting at the bugs… Did not see a lot of wildlife today, still an enjoyable walk…
