Me and my grandma gone there and was peaceful, no humans.
A very beautiful place for a walk. The creek on one side and the other is a steep hillside. Farther down the path you go the greenery on either side of you gets wider, but only by so much as upstream the hillside is as close to the creek. It’s about a mile long and paved. So it’s great for those who want to enjoy nature but aren’t hikers. It would be a great setting for someone in a wheelchair to get to enjoy nature. And there are these strange things at the base of the hillside. There will be 3 at one spot then the next little mound would have like 5, another might have 4. Don’t know what they’re for or called. They are basically just more than half of a dome, made out of brick and underground. The ones I checked out looked as though they’ve been used for many fires, but I can’t say if the fires were from the original intended use or teenagers over the years. At first glance I had thought a tree had fallen and the roots had been ripped still covered with soil lifted out of the ground, until I saw more of them and explored a little. I’d love to know what they are for and what they’re called.🤷🏼♂️ Maybe they’re remnants of the Old Castle.🤷🏼♂️
Great paved walking trail with a small parking area. The dogs loved being able to explore and walk near the creak. I even found a large piece of slate near one of the rock faces.Lovely spot to admire the autumn colors
It’s a nice quiet place to take a walk I wouldn’t go there at night though
0.9 mile one way. By the way, the semi circles Shannon Murray, are coke ovens from the old steel Industry. Coke ovens were used tomake coke out of coal, which was then used to create molten pigiron in blast furnaces, the raw material for steel. This trail is very peaceful, majestic and serene! Come here to walk a flat paved surface to clear your mind. Exercise here is great on foot or bike since it is a flat paved path. Right next to the beautiful sounds of the creek.
