FAQ for Parking Lot in Lakeside California:
5 miles up and 5 miles down… I finally came here for the first time and as soon as we got to the top and turned around. It started hailing and rain but I’ll be honest. This hike was the most intense and painfully awarding feat I’ve ever been on in San Diego. Then you feel really out of shape when you see a string bean pass you literally running the whole trail… All i can say is prepare yourself and eat right before and even during. It goes without saying but you need to hydrate accordingly and Breathe… your lungs will thank you!!!
Plenty parking at 7:30 am on Saturday. Restrooms clean. Trail in great condition considering all the rain we got. The last 1/4 mile is challenging but well marked just follow the green markers once on top. Make sure to bring enough water because going back still has several uphill sections. Hiking poles useful on this hike.
A strenuous hike, bring plenty of water and a jacket for the top its a bit cool with the breeze. Recommend to bring snacks for resting. There is a bathroom up the hill from the parking location. The gate opens at 0800 but can go earlier just park on the side. There are mile markers along the way. This hike is a lot of up and down both ways, be careful not to overdo it.
