FAQ for Rosa Mexicano in New York New York:
I was staying nearby in Midtown, and while on a walk near my hotel, found this restaurant. The festive decor, full house, and peeks at the other diner’s choices made me decide to try it out. I didn’t have a reservation (although that seems a good option, seeing how busy it was) and luckily I was accommodated easily. While enjoying the festive, colorful restaurant decor, I chose a house margarita variation. We ordered guacamole for the table, added on our entree choices, and while enjoying drinks, waited for our selections to arrive. Because everything looked good, I and my dinner partner found we’d ordered a pretty sizable amount of food! Our dinner was tasty and attractive to the eye, and we found ourselves sampling from each other’s plates. The waitstaff couldn’t have been any more attentive and seeing to our needs, surprising on such a busy evening. I chose the seafood enchiladas, but my companion, who wanted something vegetarian. The ‘pulled jackfruit’ arrived in a huge, spicy bowl, and we both shared it. It was a generous portion, and the mildly spicy sauce had the right amount of flavor to keep us coming back for more.
Everything was so good! Rosa Mexicano completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, colorful, and full of life — the lights, decor, and music made it feel festive but still relaxing. We started with the freshly made guacamole, prepared right at the table — it was absolutely delicious! Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the chips and salsa. Every dish that followed was amazing — the molcajete with shrimp and steak came sizzling hot and full of flavor, and the lobster and steak combo was cooked to perfection. The quesadillas were cheesy and satisfying, and every bite felt like comfort food done right. The cucumber margarita was another highlight — refreshing with just the right kick from the chili rim. It paired perfectly with the meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed the whole time. Service was quick, and everyone had such positive energy.Overall, it was an incredible dining experience — delicious food, amazing drinks, and a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Everything was so good! I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in town. 🌮💃✨
In the upper east side you can find this Mexican restaurant which offers very generous portions at fair prices. Some dishes were very good while others a bit disappointing. The service, however, was excellent. An interesting place to enjoy Margaritas and have a great Guacamole. 🥑
Rosa Mexicano is an elevated take on the casual Mexican cocina. I went for Restaurant Week and already saw the great value of their NULL prix fixe menu. Our waitress Joan was so friendly and her recommendations for the steak tartare starter was on point. Each dish tasted fresh, light, flavorful, and was presented in such a colorful way. Amazing flavors in the steak tartare itself, down to the well seasoned fish tacos. A great place for lunch and happy hour!
Eh, Rosa isn’t what it used to be.Tuna ceviche – too spicy and felt more like a dip than a proper ceviche—just tuna chunks thrown on top.The skinny margarita was oddly spicy and just tasted like a mix.Chicken empanadas – huge disappointment, didn’t taste like empanadas at all and were just not good.Birria tacos and the rice—both were solid.Service was quick
