FAQ for Grape Street Dog Park in San Diego California:
My favorite non beach dog park in the area (the other being little Italy). Good parking. Great size–it’s big enough to walk around. Great views, shade, and views. It’s mostly dirt but it’s like a composite of dirt and some soil so it’s not necessarily “dirty”.The only big potential downside (depending on your dog) is that it is not completely fenced in.
This is the greatest dog park I’ve ever been to… by far! There’s everything you could want – acres of space, benches, nice scenery, lots of trees, a watering station and even bathrooms. I find the park to be very well-maintained and frequented by friendly dogs. (I have a smaller dog that can be vulnerable around larger aggressive dogs) I always feel safe bringing her here. From what I have experienced I can expect to see on average from 20 – 60 dogs across the acreage. The dogs are socially balanced and owners are responsive. I would highly recommend this dog park as a must see!
The best dog park in San Diego. It’s completely open, little and big dogs mingling together. It’s great.
It’s a really nice and fresh, my dog likes it, there’s a lot of empty space if you’re dog is the type of walk and explore rather than socializing but the only bad thing would be that there are coyotes although I haven’t seen any so far, but be aware and safe! The community seems to be very welcoming to anyone that’s willing to join and that’s wonderful. It’s definitely a place that me and my dog are willing to try! 🙂↕️
Love it here!! Always enjoy seeing all the wonderful dogs playing.Update: I’ve been coming here for years and I love it. A little bummed that the beautiful grass they put in didn’t last long, but whatever. The park is starting to look even better each week. We came to the park one day and saw that they were making the bathroom look amazing bu painting little murals all around. It was nice to see some of these kids painting some of the animals, which looked amazing! So many people were happy to see this! I for one as I stopped to take a picture. BUT, I have to say I was a little disappointed when I came back to the park a couple days later and saw that the murals had been painted over making the bathrooms looked bland as before. I talked to someone else whom frequents there ans it seems that they need a permit to paint the bathrooms as it would be considered “Graffiti!”I would hope the right people will allow this to be painted again as its cheery and fun and makes the park more lively than it already is with our wonderful pups! I’ll think good positive thoughts that this gets done sooner rather than later as this park is wonderful and we’ve met many wonderful friends here.
