FAQ for Eucalyptus Dog Park in Chula Vista California:
Best place to play tennis! It’s my go-to love this place i hope they keep it nice and let’s all behave accordingly so these courts will be in good condition for everyone for a long time
There are 2 separate fenced areas for small and big dogs-> small dog area is smaller and mostly flat-> large dog area isn’t completely flat, has hills/slopes, holes, and treesPros:- Part of a larger community park- Decent size- Good if you live nearby or need a rest stop to/from mexico- On the quieter sideCons:- Previous photos made it look nicer; either its the season, or the city stopped maintaining this place- Feels like since there was an open space that was unusable for the city or the community park, they just put a fence around it and called it a “dog park”- Water fountain is currently broken!!!
Good little place to go let the dog get some excersie where it’s fenced but the large dog side is un fenced toward a hill. Also the only doggy fountain for water is outside of the fenced area across the tennis courts.
In the past week, all the swings are back and the slides are back including one that I have never seen before but is geared to the under five crowd, yeah! My daughter is happy with all the restored equipment.Previous review:I have been visiting this park the last 3 years and I’ve watched it decline. This was a great park because it was geared for 5 and under but I have watched a big slide, 2 swings, 1 tunnel connecting the ramp to the large structure, and the 5 pole balance section. All these things have been taken out and not replaced.Chula Vista has done good at getting new play equipment but nothing geared towards the under 5 crowd.Often the bathrooms (mens side) are missing tiolet paper, I wish there was a family bathroom so that I feel more comfortable taking my daughter into the restroom.I have been lucky enough to have some food donation come and give me food for Thanksgiving and local police come by during Christmas time to give toys from thier trunks.I have seen some great pets (a toucan and a tortoise) frequent the park and lots of parties. The ice cream trucks can be expensive, I recommend going to Aldi and bring your own and share with the other kids (just ask a parent first)
One and foremost, whether there’s waste bags or not for our dogs waste, as the person taking the dog there owner or not, it’s our responsibility to pick up after them. Bring your own waste bags so you don’t have an excuse to not pick up the waste. We are a family of six plus our fur baby, the dog park and playground have been lots of fun for the whole family. We kept our fur baby in the small dogs side as he’s a pup and just started coming out so he’s still timid but was playing great along the fence with the bigger dogs on the other side of the fence, big dog side. I love the hills and running space for our fur babies.Dog parks are all dirt so what I did was take everyone to the dog park first, then to the jungle gym area.Thank you, City Of Chula Vista for maintaining this space for our fur babies… Oh and for the courtesy waste bags! Will definitely be visiting this park again 🙂
