Beautiful, well maintained trail with lots of wildflowers and views of the surrounding area. The trailhead is well marked on the left on the way in to the campground. You do not need to pay to park and hike here. Good shoes and water are a must, there are some rocky and slippery areas and enough of a hill to get your heart rate up.

Beautiful, wooded, scenic loop trail in Mount Laguna. Easy to moderate, fine for most levels of hikers. Peaceful and pretty!I went in mid-July and it was warm but not too hot. Quite shady for the most part!

Family Friendly Hike. Completed the 1.5 mile loop with a 5.5 and 4 year old. They complained a little but we went slow and took in the nature.Important info to follow1. Stopped at Mt Laguna Visitor Center. Was told you DO NOT need a NULL parking pass for this trail.2. Parking lot has an entrance (trail with sign) and exit trail in close proximity of each other. Start at the Wooded Hill Nature Trail sign entrance. This is important because we found out there are 31 numbered rocks along the 1.5 mile loop. Makes for a fun counting game for the kids.3. You will gain about 300 ft in elevation on the hike. Peak is 6,230 ft.4. Well shaded along the trail. We hiked it June 8th, temp was 80 degrees and probably max temp for the little ones to handle.

“Adventure pass” needed to park in this and surrounding trailheads.Nice hike with short (1/2 mile) and long (1 1/2 mile) loops with elevation, trail is 80 percent shaded. Great views to the North, South and East.

If you want a short hike with plenty of wildflowers (lupine, paintbrush, golden yarrow, etc.), lots of wildlife, glades of trees that seem almost enchanted, and stunning views, this is your trail. Lovely in June when more coastal areas in San Diego are past their peak wildflower season and greenness. Delightfully shady and full of tall black oak and pine trees that produce a lovely aroma that draws you in to a foresty wonderland. Make sure if keeping right from the start to take the left path up the mountain to see the serene view of the surrounding mountains, although the lower path (distinguished by a large concrete storage cylinder with a ladder on it) has a great out and back meadow view. At the top of the hill where the best views are, there are plenty of sturdy rocks to climb and sit on to picnic or just relax. Great for young kids and bringing your dogs 🙂
