FAQ for Agua Dulce Trailhead in Mt Laguna California:
Great trail head. Has a picnic table under the tree shade, clean bathrooms, great trails all around for both hikers and mountain bikers, really very gorgeous views.
Nice spacious trail. Not too many people. Dogs welcome but they need to be leashed. If your dog is reactive beware because most people have their dogs unleashed but some do try to leash them when they see another dog approaching. Lots of leftover dog poop though, people just leave it I guess but it really needs to be picked up. Incline isn’t too bad, I was able to do it 3 weeks post op lung surgery.
Great trail with lots of spurs to explore! Really feels as though you are completely immersed in the forest. Trails are highly visible and not overgrown. This is more of a walking area than a technical hiking area which did not detract from the experience. Great beginner area!
My car was broken into at this trailhead, so be careful! Don’t leave belongings in your car and make sure that if you are alone you bring some sort of protection. I was by myself and the perpetrators flattened my tire so I could have been in big trouble if I didn’t use the tools and tactics that I knew about to get out of the situation. As for the trail itself, it had great views and wide paths. Great beginners trail for mountain biking. I gave 4 stars because I didn’t enjoy the pavement so much, which covered the majority of the path.
Nice hike. Many offshoots of other trails out here. Be sure to use an app like All Trails.
