This park entrance is not heavy used. On a three hour hike, I only saw two couple of hikers and only single person.Very nice weekday hike spot.
Great place for hikers of all ability levels and a large variety of trails. Services available at the trailhead. The old mines are pretty interesting stops along the trail.
What a great hike. Definitely some hills. Steep up and down with plenty of shade. Still, if the weather is warm, go early in the day.
It’s an amazing park in the south San Jose towards the Almaden valley. A lot of hiking trails are there from east to strenuous. There is plenty of parking and there is no parking fee. You can have a small picnic around the bbq pits. I have a lot of pets along the trail. There are remains and footprints of the old silver mining times.
Great trails to choose from. Some sections could be a bit steep to some people. It was my first time starting from the Mockingbird Hill entrance. Took the short 2.75-mile loop from the parking lot. The elevation was 500 feet. The parking is free. There is a restroom at the entrance.
