The food here is probably the most unique and inventive in the town of Joseph. They do a lot of fermented foods and everything is made from scratch. We had the mushrooms, street tacos and watermelon salad. It was all very good with the watermelon salad being a definite repeat order. Service is good. Because everything is made from scratch, the food can come out a bit slow when they are busy. But, they tell you that up front. Atmosphere is nice. It’s only outdoor tables. Get there early because it’s small and fills up quickly.
Consistently the best quality food in town, and love the constant menu updates. This isn’t the place to go if you’re looking for something that went from freezer to fryer. It’s where you go to try spices you may never have heard of, and delicious in house made desserts. Prices and portions are very reasonable.
I went in for some food. I got some broccolini type dish. It looked and smelled amazing. But there was some sort of little balls of seasoning they must of dumped in. It was covered in them. Just one burnt my mouth. I had to sift through them and was not able to eat the whole thing.Only a couple of them are needed I think. They were horrible it was a different spice I had never had before and it literally burning my mouth
Wow, I was not expecting to find veg options on Joseph, Oregon but The Dog Spot did not disappoint. Please go here for really yummy food, vegans/vegetarians/omnivores!!!First, the inside has got some great options for dog owners (and I think some for cats too!). My friend bought a toy for her friend’s puppy, and the owner was very friendly. We came back in the evening for dinner and sat outside for a lovely meal. There’s not too much seating outside, maybe two or three tables, but it wasn’t busy when we went (and in general it was rather quiet in town).I ordered the jackfruit banh mi — I’ve never had jackfruit before and I loved this SO MUCH! Ate it all up. Also I don’t actually like kimchi but I loved every bite of this meal. My friend got the chorizo street tacos and enjoyed her meal as well. Everything was so tasty, didn’t take long for our order to come out, and service and atmosphere of the place was wonderful. We mostly cooked each meal during the trip to avoid going out (with the pandemic and all), but I’m so glad we spent our last dinner in town at The Dog Spot!
