Small parking area with an approximate 1 mile trail linking to the north bend trail. In regards to the north bend trail it is pretty scenic and the tunnels are pretty cool. The trail surface can be rough in sections as a lot of this is like road rock and not all crushed stone like most rail trails. Would recommend mountain bike tires for this trail.

This rail trail has sooo much potential. A couple of negatives are that the terrain is rough with chunky gravel and lacks clear signage. No public restrooms at the trail head or along the trail. When we got to Cairo, only a small diner was open and a small market. There is so much lost potential here.In the other hand, this part of the trail has multiple tunnels within a short span of one another and lots of natural beauty. The tunnels are dark, though, so remember a bike light. A real bonus is that the parking and park entrance were free. I love West Virginia State Parks!!

Lovely trail, flat, good for walking. Not so great for biking, as some areas are very rough and not enjoyable to ride due to this. Keep your bicycle type and tires in mind when visiting.

It was great for the kids and the dog! We enjoyed our walk! More restrooms and markers to let ya know how far it is to the next tunnel or town would be great! Like every one to two miles! Beautiful clean !
