This park had plenty of open spaces. It was gorgeous, and passing through the different areas along the trail felt like walking in a travel brochure! It had a nice length. I can’t wait to come back!

There Pheasant Run Area of the Silver Creek Metro Park is a very nice section of the park to visit. There is a shelter house that can be reserved a well as several picnic tables to enjoy. Most of the picnic tables are surrounded by trees and are very well shaded.
There are latrines, but no running water. Two of the park’s hiking trails can be accessed from here.
We were there for the Pheasant Run trail as part of the Fall Hiking Spree. This is a great short trail. Just a bit over a mile in length. The trail goes through some open fields as well as plenty of trees for shade. Most of the trail is shady! The trail passes by a lake and even journeys through a very nice pine tree section.
For a short trail, it definitely has a bit of everything!
A hike for the entire family!
