FAQ for Cross River Reservoir Dam in Katonah New York:
This is a cool little walk with some stellar scenery. There are two parking areas on Reservoir Road, the distant one was just over two miles there and back. The parking area is a dirt road, but smooth enough a few kids were riding their bikes around quite happily. There’s no facilities- picnic tables, bathroom, etc so not the place for that. But the view over the dam and spillway are awesome, especially when the water is high.
Love fishing 🎣 here. Amazing place to chill.
Very beautiful view at sunset. Nice bridge to walk over or just go and sit on. Very peaceful
The only difference between Cross River Reservoir and Croton Gorge Dam is that spillover doesn’t have steps, and it doesn’t provide access to see the view of spillover. I wish DEP allows access at the bottom where excessive water falls in the creek below. It will be a fantastic photo opportunity. This is a good place for jogging and biking. There is a small parking area very close to the dam where you can park and walk on the top of the dam.
Beautiful scenery here to take a nice afternoon stroll or even an early morning hike. Watch out for the huge yellow and black spiders that are nesting on the fences of the dam. They are beautiful and should not be disturbed.
