FAQ for Chelsea Recreational Park in Chelsea Alabama:
Nice park with some shaded paths, and it’s convenient to Chelsea. Downsides are the poison ivy gardens along the path, and the lack of path maintenance, (such as sweeping off pine straw, sticks and leaves.)Both Chelsea and Shelby County seem proud of their creation of parks and recreational facilities, but the maintenance of those places is lacking. If you’re into sports with your kids it could be really great. But if you’re a family with kids just looking for some relaxed outdoor activities, or senior citizens, they haven’t done much for you yet. You’re second place.
Went to my grandsons flag football game. The people of Chelsea are blessed to have wonderful parks like this one and great neighbors to be with.
This is a great place to just hang out and relax. The walking trail is very nice and surprisingly cool with all the shade from the trees. A great place to bring the whole family (including your fur-babies)! My husband and I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
A great park to visit if you want to walk the long trail that winds thru the park, or to bring your kids there to play on the nice playground equipment. They have soccer fields and a baseball field, and plenty of bathrooms including a new building put up end of last year. They also covered a covered pavilion with picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy lunch.
This is a nice little park for my 2 and 4 year old boys Plenty to climb and slide on and doesn’t seem overcrowded at all during weekdays. Not sure about weekends. It has about 6 picnic tables under a gazebo, baby to toddler size long chain swings and 3 fair sized playgrounds next to each other that scale up in age to toddlers. Bathrooms were clean and really close by and the playgrounds area didn’t have a spec of litter in or around. Great little park.
