Liberty Park with Dog Park in New Hope, Minnesota

Liberty Park offers a unique experience for dog owners in New Hope, Minnesota. The dog park area is set up seasonally, using the enclosed hockey/ice skating rink during warmer months. For those seeking a dog-friendly spot, the main feature is a large, fully fenced-in area that allows plenty of open space for dogs to run and play. Park amenities include picnic tables and a playground, making it family-friendly and a great location to combine kid and canine adventures.

This park stands out for its accessibility: both the entrance and the parking lot are wheelchair accessible, and it’s a pleasant local spot for residents looking to socialize their dogs. I am a resident bordering Library Park. This so called dog park is a joke. The city puts up signs to pick up your dogs waste. Although, most people do pick up there dogs waste. Outside the park is a different story. And I’m getting sick of the waste being blamed on my dog. We never had this problem, until the city opened the hocky arena to a dog park. As a tax payers in this city, im asking you to close this park to dogs. Most of the dogs that are brought here have NO obedience what so ever. Dog fights happen almost everyday….

My dog and I came here looking for a dog park and we actually drove away. It’s not a dog park, it’s just the ice skating area that is unused in the warmer months. I can see it being fun for small dogs to socialize, but other reviews said there are gaps in the paneling. I’m sure the park is a great place for kids, but “with dog park” is a misleading title..

The dog park area was nice. Large fenced in area great for playing with the dog. Could use some shade but otherwise great place to hang out

The new playground equipment is still being installed but my 5 yo grandson thoroughly enjoyed himself. The city has gone to great lengths to improve the park and has added a picnic table with a sun umbrella. The basketball court has been removed and I hope it’s back soon. The dog park is basically inside the ice rink but there is plenty of open space for dogs to run, kites, or frisbees.
There are no restrooms at this park.

I’m not reviewing the park which looked fine. I’m reviewing the dog park. There is an attempt at a dog park. It is a seasonal one and it is where the enclosed hockey area is located. I took pictures. It’s muddy and gross but it’s enclosed so there you go.
