Located in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, the Dog Park at 5413 Lorain Ave offers a convenient retreat for pet owners seeking a dog-friendly space to let their pups play off-leash. The park features two fenced-in areas—one large and one smaller—providing flexible options for dogs of various sizes or temperaments. Visitors appreciate the easy accessibility with wheelchair-friendly entrance and parking, making it an inclusive spot for all Cleveland dog lovers. While the park offers ample space and tends to be less crowded, some reviews note that it could benefit from more regular maintenance and cleanup, as the grounds can become overgrown and occasionally littered.
This dog park is uniquely situated near the Michael J Rec Zone and includes double-gated entries for added security. Dog owners highlight the peaceful atmosphere and the benefit of pet-friendly walking areas nearby. While there have been occasional concerns regarding safety and cleanliness, most visitors value having a dedicated dog park in Cleveland. As with many public spaces, it’s recommended to stay alert and be mindful of your surroundings, particularly at less busy times.
Love that there are 2 fenced-in areas. However, very small spaces and the park could use some TLC (grass is overgrown, lots of litter).
Could be bigger. They have the room for it. Some people didn’t pick up after their dogs. But nice to have it there regardless.
Went there one time and it was okay, it’s not maintained and has overgrowth of shrubbery. Owners don’t pick up after their dogs but I was already compromising (whatever, we can handle alittle bit of dog poop and work with what we have) My dogs had a great time and we were the only ones there at the time.
*UPDATE* 10/28/24 BUT! I decided to go there one more time and this will be the last time. There was a homeless woman or whom I would think is a homeless woman tweaking on something. She didn’t bother anyone at first until she started using the bathroom openly squatting and continuously digging inside her pants and smearing it on areas of the park. She then decided to undress and walked around speaking absurdity. My dogs and I were just ignoring the situation and waiting for her to walk away within a good distance to get out of the gated area and go towards the car. We were safely in the car and doors locked. Luckily I did since she quickly ran towards my passenger door to try and get in but my husky was not having it and scared her away.
This is actually a beautiful dog park. It just needs to be cleaned up! Most people don’t even know it’s here. It’s a quarter mile barely from Michael J Rec Zone. It’s a little bit off in the cut. There is A large fenced in area and then just off of that. A smaller fenced in area if your dog is not dogs. It’s a beautiful and it’s double fenced. It just needs to be cleaned up.
Great recreation area. Good fenced dog park. Nice are for walking your dog. Just a little concerned with homeless tents and the garbage around them. I do carry my mace when walking alone.
