I came back on 10/10/25 to pickup my new family member during adoption blitz. The staff is so friendly, respectful, and kind. Carlos explained all the details and gave my Brownies paperwork. The staff gave me a leash, collar and toy. A very nice place. The love and caring for these strays/lost pets/pets to be is shown in each associate there! Thank you!
Absolutely terrible! My sister brought in 2 dogs to Trenton Animal Shelter today that she had found on Bernard St. and there was a female worker who was extremely unprofessional and disgusting, her name was either Lowgy or Lowby, the shelter refused to give us her name. She first implied that my sister was getting rid of these “old dogs” for new puppies. She yelled at them and said “you should have called us”, which multiple people , even myself, for 2 hours did with no assistance and no one answering the phone. Then said they were full so they were going to put them down, which my sister then refused to leave them there. The woman then said to my sisters boyfriend “control your woman” and started arguing with them. Then came back outside lifted up her buttcheeks and said “yea well I got all this” and then dropped her buttcheeks. Thankfully they got in contact with Ewing animal shelter to come pick the dogs up. However, this is extremely disturbing that this is how Trenton animal shelter employees handle these situations. The staff being aggressive makes this even worse. I’m so disappointed to hear this is how this shelter is run and hope the animals being brought here are properly handled.
I reached to acquire information about surrendering an two cats. They told me to reach out to a rescue, and when I asked for more detailed information as a google search can provide an array of options, they were short and it came off rude. So essentially, the customer service is why I’m giving this place a 1 star review. Maybe in person they’re a lot nicer.
Adopted a dog 3 months ago. Turns out the dog came with hookworms! Also texted the trainer about concerns I had regarding my new dog with my cat (shelter told me they took the dog into the cat room and she was fine with them, total lie), trainer NEVER responded to me. Place is clearly dirty and completely unorganized/unprofessional.
I’m not sure how they operate things but when I adopted my dog, I had to go back to the shelter like three days later to pick up my dogs pills, and I brung my dog with me and she seemed very excited when we arrived but sad when we left. So thank the staff for treating my dog so well to the point where she was sad when she left
