FAQ for Shore Acres Mini Park in St. Petersburg FL:
Photo is the kayak launch, which is muddy (requiring shoes/boots) and quite a distance from the extremely limited parking. A rug, providing a soft kayak slide to the water, covers the concrete stairs. I opened yellow gate & backed my full-size truck to the kayak launch, then parked on the grass (between trees) by the intersection. I saw no signs restricting either action. There are no restrooms.
Wonderful small park for families. Perfect age is probably 5-6/7, some of the features were too high for a 4yo, and some were too “baby” for a 3yo. An odd design imo. Multiple kids would have a blast running around, but youngers will need grown up help getting around.
It’s wonderful to have a nice, updated playground in this neighborhood. It’s got turf grass, swings, and is fenced off. It’s a great little playground, except for when it’s really hot and muggy or during peak mosquito time because that can quickly make it a miserable place. There’s also plenty of grassy area around the park, it’s by the water, and you can always pop by the nearby fire station. Food trucks are sometimes stationed there in the evenings as well.
A great local park with waterfront views and only one gate (parents with little escape artists appreciate a single exit to mind). Lots of fun equipment on soft astroturf. I do recommend bringing a small picnic blanket if you plan to sit as the turf is not the most comfortable to sit on for any extended period of time.
Quiet little out of the way park! 70% shaded, and a view of the water. Near a high traffic area but it is fenced in all around. This is a newly refurbished park with nice artificial turf. So much better than sand!
