Beautiful forests similar to Black Forest in Germany. Huge park w excellent biking and hiking. The best and most visually stunning section is blue 5 w very technical expert trails w a bit of everything. Not for the faint of heart w big drops, jumps , and stream crossings along a steep gorge. I used my enduro bike wich was about right for the terrain. Lots of roots and rocks and steep climbs at times. Hold on tight
Good trails. Getting to them from Prospect Valley is horrible. Even though it says minimum maintenance, logging trucks ruined the road completely. There’s no room to pull over for them, and pot holes everywhere. It will bottom out your car if you’re not careful. If you plan using these trails, go the other way
Somewhat remote, challenging and heavily forested. If those things appeal to you, you’ll like Shindagin. The day I was there, it wasn’t busy though it was raining earlier so maybe that’s was why. No cell reception so be prepared to find your way out without a phone GPS map. Fun course for intermediate or better MTB riders. Parking is easily available also.
Awesome network of trails. The only concern, and it’s a big one, is the trails do not handle the wet weather well. They get soaked easily and seem to never dry out!
