If you’re searching for a dog-friendly park in Canton, OH, Frank Esmont Park offers a peaceful escape with beautiful, pet-friendly trails along the Nimishillen Creek. This charming little park features easy, shaded hiking routes that welcome both dogs and their human companions. With plenty of greenery and access to the river, it’s an ideal setting for relaxing walks, light hikes, and quiet moments in nature—all within city limits.
Frank Esmont Park provides a calm, low-traffic atmosphere that is perfect for dog owners seeking a less crowded outdoor space. There are several benches along the trails for owners to rest, and you’ll find ample parking by the park entrance. Kids are also welcome here, with the easy trails making it a good place for families. While there aren’t separate fenced areas for dogs, pets are very much encouraged on-leash, and the plentiful shade keeps walks comfortable even on warmer days.
Cute little park. The trail is an easy walk just a little over a half mile throughout the woods. Half of the hike is along the river which is very shaded. My son and I basically had the place to ourselves. Every time we’ve been here it’s been very little people. Only benches along the trails. The picnic table that was once here is gone now. Plenty of trash cans too. No restrooms. Wish they had a port-a potty.
Nice little trail. Easy to walk. Plenty of parking.
I love this little nature trail, next to the Nimishillen Creek, its beautiful and peaceful, I used to walk around 5 times every day many years ago, and would like to do it again this summer hopefully!!!
