While the Baylands trail that goes past here is great, the “bowl” itself is underwhelming. It was partially filled in early November.I guess as a landmark it’s handy, e.g. a turnaround point for a short walk. But better places along the trail to see the birds

“The Bowl” is a title given on Google Maps to this usually-dry pond on the inland side of the Adobe Loop Creek Trail @ Shoreline. Fun place to mtn bike: roll in, couple of small jumps and climb out. I’ve logged a lot of hours & miles here, broken 3 ribs & tore my ACL…but I’m sorta’ extreme.😱

Black Butte Forge

In the early 80’s this was called “TableTop Lake” and not only did it have big jumps, but it was the burial grounds for broken BMX parts for us. The water used to be orange and the surrounding mud burned if you got any on you…ah! the good times!

As of 4/14 there’s too much water, can’t be used for biking

Fun Lil spot to admire the aftermath of rainfall in a gigantic puddle! Splash with care!
