South End Dog Run – A Pet-Friendly Dog Park in Boston, Massachusetts

The South End Dog Run provides a convenient option for local pet owners looking for a small, enclosed space to let their dogs off-leash in Boston, MA. This dog park is made up of a gravel (peastone) surface and is fully fenced, creating a secure environment for pets. It’s best-suited for quick play sessions and bathroom breaks rather than large-scale exercise—especially for big dogs who need more room to run and play.

Though the park offers basic amenities like a fenced-in area and a water source for dogs, visitors have noted that maintenance can be lacking at times, with poop bags not always available and waste not consistently cleared. Owners are encouraged to bring their own bags and keep an eye on cleanliness. The central location is easily accessible for those living nearby, making it a practical option for city dog owners.

Very small gravel area. Enclosed space for dogs to urinate but definitely not enough room for my large dog to “run” as suggested in the name.
