The @Google Maps gave me the wrong location for the baseball field at Fontenelle Park! I was in a hurry to get to the game but I would like to go back and correct the Google maps with an edit! Also well I was there I tried to make a Facebook post and tag Fontenelle Park in the Facebook post and it wouldn’t allow me to do so! And I’m sure Fontana Park is on the map so I don’t know what’s going on!? Usually Google Maps is always right in Apple Maps is wrong sometimes so I was surprised when it didn’t get me to the right area! This is the first time I mapped didn’t take me where I needed to go! Weird!!?
A perfect place to spend time with your family and friends! Great walking paths, tons of places for kids to play, and the lake is gorgeous at sunset!
Hard to believe that you are in the city when you are immersed in this beautiful park.
I remember sledding down these hills in the 1970’s so Fontenelle has a soft spot for me. I wish the City of Omahs took better care of the park, as grass was overgrown, trash overflowing, and the sad water park area only had one flower dripping water. If one city park in Omaha is in immaculate shape, they all should be.
A BIG complaint about this park is there was that there was no bathroom. The park was peaceful as there were not very many people there. The bike path wasn’t in the best shape, and the neighborhood around it in some sections is in disrepair. Buildings boarded up and trashed, as well as having trash. The park grounds are obviously maintained. There wasn’t very much trash in the park, but there was trash. The playground didn’t look well maintained. The two regular swings were both broken. Wouldn’t be my first choice of park to go to in the area, but it isn’t a terrible park at all. I’m pretty sure I saw a drug deal go down while I was walking, but that’s speculation.
