FAQ for Barbara Pine Memorial Beach in Guilford Connecticut:
Dog friendly year round! A nice little beach to let your pup have an on leash dip
This beach looked adorable, but it was NOT a pleasant experience for us! We were quickly overwhelmed by swarms of horseflies, leaving my husband covered in painful bites. The swimming area wasn’t great either – the water was so thick with silt that it was more like quicksand than a refreshing swim. We could barely walk, let alone enjoy ourselves! My son even cut his feet trying to free his shoes from the mud. My husband gave up swimming into the sea because he couldn’t move his feet without losing his crocs to the silt.Th e beach has a nice view though.
Dog (leash) superrrrrr friendly beach. Does have seaweed. Low tide you can walk out pretty far too. Highly recommend if your dog likes to swim. This is the bay so waves aren’t huge. Parking limited but never had an issue. Poop bags provided by entrance. No fee.
Such a cute little beach in the middle of (nearly) nowhere. Nestled between marshlands and a few private villas, this makes for a really scenic and peaceful pit-stop. There are large boulders, patches of green lawns (with a picnic bench), a nice sandy patch and a nice wide view of India cove. You can even spot a lighthouse in the horizon if you look carefully :). The area’s great for osprey viewing, and there’s a nest right by the beach.
Quiet and somewhat secluded beach in Guilford CT, adjoining Indian Cove. Great place to go paddle boarding, take a swim in the water, or simply lounge on the beach. There’s an adjacent public park with a picnic bench too. Also features an osprey nest atop a tall post. Keep your eyes and ears open for the friendly neighborhood ice cream truck as it’s doing the rounds too!
