These photos are of Van Alstyne, a cute little town said to be less that 7,000 in Collin County, Texas. There is a rural feel and there are little houses as well as some remnants presumably of the frontier days. I felt safe walking around and like most other parts of northern Texas I’d been to, people are kind, helpful, and friendly.According to the city’s website, this park is one of five available with a variety of amenities for enjoyment. Please check with the Parks and Recreation regarding availability.The building seen near the park is “The Cartwright House,” which now houses the Van Alstyne Historical Museum, built around 1890 elsewhere in the town but moved to its current location around 1901.

Very pretty little park in town. My mother loves to have us all go and have nice pictures taken when they decorate it. They did a beautiful job this year.

Great small downtown park to just go to relax. Nice landscaping, beautiful horse statue and gazebo. Wonderful activities and decorations at Christmas time!!!
