Plenty of parking beside the pool. It’s 500ft down to the dock from the parking lot, but the gate isn’t locked if you want to drive down and drop off your kayak. The ramp is not steep and the water gets deep quickly. There’s a mile long creek just to the North and an even longer creek directly across the river. There’s no fee and the park is very clean and organized.
Great kayaking experience. Launch from beach or kayak pier. A bit windy but there is a creek that you can go up to that is shielded from waves and wind lots birds and fish to see. Worth a repeat visit.
Great spot for camping with the scouts or other adventure groups. They had team building, ropes courses, fire pits, large fields, covered pavilions, walking trails, facility’s for bathrooms and sinks. Sinks. They had a horse ring as well as a big field for camping and stargazing. There was likely much more to see but we were so busy with the scouts. There is a gate to get in and the park rangers were very helpful and brought us firewood and toilet paper.
