Beautiful park. Great visitors center. The young lady who was working was very helpful and knowledgeable about the trails. If you go to the top of the mountain, near the North Carolina line, the parking is limited inside. During the government shutdown check to see what services are available before you go.
My favorite park in all of TN. It’s always very clean. The views are gorgeous and the amenities are always clean. The camping area was also clean and perfect. Easy to navigate. Handicap accessible trails and camping. The hiking trails are some of the best around!
Nice singletrack trails. Well maintained with a good variety of difficulty.
I did the 9 mile loop on the MTB trails and it was great. Rolling hills added up to around 1600’ of elevation gain. More hikers and runners than mountain bikers when I was there. Well maintained and easy to follow trails.
Ups and downs… Probably the best ‘All Mountain’ trail in the area. Smooth, chunky, long and punchy climbs. Good work out.
We love to go to the Trails to walk the dog. There are so many different paths to choose from. It’s close to where we live, and it’s unbelievably convenient for a quick get away.
We love to walk the dog there. He loves all of the deer smells everywhere. It turns him into a crazy dog, and he has a chance to get it out of his system before we bring him him.
