I recall first going here in 2018. It was an awesome experience. I went here for an annual veggie festival and it was awesome. I got the opportunity to try out different vegan foods and desserts and they were very good. If you like parks like I do, then this is the perfect setting to relax and unwind at.

It gets a bad reputation because of the large homeless population at night.And yes, there is duck poop everywhere, but it is a nice historical park that is great for events and festivals. To be fair, every major city or town you go to that has a public duck pond always has lots of poop and homeless people. I love riverside, and this park will always be the heart of riverside.

Such a relaxing park. Got surprised by birds and turtles! One even did a trick while I walked by it lol into the water. I like that it has a dog park and a basketball court. Basketball court is in okay shape but it’s not bad for shooting around. Wonder if there are runs here 🤔. Parking is also a bit unclear but y there’s an area with many cars in an unpaved lot.

I’m here new to the area on a hot Thursday afternoon looking for a play ground, swimming pool or splash pad for the kids now that school is out but no this is the third park. I’ve went to where there is really nothing to do but just stand or sit in heat this sucks. There is a pool that looks like it hasn’t been used in forever. There are two large pavilions with grills by the restroom area. There is a baseball field basketball and tennis court. The playground is not built yet so no one can use it at the moment. There is plenty of parking at this park. A indoor place that they used as a library but now can be rented for private events now that library has been moved. This park also has a nice size dog park and a beautiful pond view. You can fish at this location with license. I’m hoping to see some improvement in the near future. A lot of things need to be maintained.
Warning for the general public, there are unsupervised dogs running loose on the nature trail around the lake. Some irresponsible dog owners are allowing their dogs to run up on unsuspecting people utilizing the trail. This is a reason for concern for small children with parents and the elderly walking their dog.
Big enough for a couple basketball courts, couple of dog parks, a tennis court, baseball field, 2 nice sized picnic areas, a nice sized kids play area, a huge retention pond, and walking trails in the woods. There’s just a lot of trash. People need to clean up behind themselves just as much as the city needs to tighten up.
