FAQ for Simple Life Cabins and Campground in Robbinsville North Carolina:
Wonderful experience! The owner Al is an amazing host and made us feel right at home. It was our first visit and we will certainly recommend it as a place to stay when our friends are in the area.
Very good, quirky, cabins and campground catering to motorcycle riders. We had a large campsite with two picnic tables, electricity, and trees for our daughter’s hammock. Water spigot was adjacent to the site. Wonderful visit! We only wish they would add a second bathhouse.
We stayed for the CHD10 event and the cabin was just minutes from the Tail of the Dragon. The Dragon’s Lair is a very cozy cabin, a little further away from the others which allowed for a more quiet stay and increased privacy! The view from the higher elevation was beautiful. Allen is a wonderful host and takes pride in his property. He was very accommodating with our check in/check out times. He also has facilities on site to clean your vehicle if you need to for any events you may be attending. This was my first time at the tail, and first stay at Simple Life Mountain Retreat and I’ll definitely be coming back for future tail visits!
Very quiet camping off the dragon, with beautiful mountain views, adult only getaway that’s peaceful. The bathroom/ bath house are very clean. The Honey from the owners bees is phenomenal 😍.
I had an exceptional experience staying at Simple Life Cabins & Campground. My friend and I rented two single-occupancy cabins (Bear’s Den and Duckling Nest) for a multi-day motorcycle tour of the area. The cabins were all we needed. Alan is an exceptionally courteous host and I hit it off with him immediately. If you are trailering your motorcycle to the campground he has a safe, proven process for unloading/loading your bike. There is plenty of space to unhitch your trailer and park your vehicle right next to your cabin. The bath house was clean and the shower was nice and hot! The campground is located right off US-129 for easy access to Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, and many more roads. Yet it’s also just far enough from the main streets of Robbinsville that the campground is quiet. Cabins are priced very affordably and Alan is very responsive to any questions you may have. Come enjoy the Simple Life for your next Smoky Mountain getaway!
I cannot exaggerate how absolutely wonderful my stay here was! My group of 10 stayed for 4 days during our trip to the tail of the dragon and tent camped. There was plenty of space for our cars and the covered motorcycle parking was very nice. The owner was also an amazing host and made sure we were well taken care of! The grounds are very nice and well lit, and the bathrooms are very nice with hot showers. Will absolutely bring my business here again!
I loved playing here as a child growing up in the area
Great campsite that is very secluded. I actually enjoyed the 5 mile drive down the dirt road to get here.
We reserved campsite D which is a 20 person site (pretty sure). There are a few decent spots for hammocks. There are a few decent spots for tents 1-6 people. Anything bigger and you might not find a decent spot, but could still set up. The grassy area is terraced to accommodate a lot of tents, but nature has taken a toll on it. One of the bathrooms wasn’t flushing great, but we notified the maintenance guy and he was going to notify the forest service. The pavilion was awesome. The area is close to the river so great for white noise sleepers. Zero cell phone reception.
One of the nicer campgrounds that features about 6 sites. Large grassy areas with good shade. Huge fire pits large enough to burn large fires!
