If you’re seeking a pet-friendly adventure in Dover, Ohio, Canal Lands Trailhead Parking offers a great starting point for dog-friendly hiking and leisurely nature walks. Located at 8645 Dover Zoar Rd NE, this site provides access to local trails perfect for exploring with your canine companion. The area is noted for its unique historical features such as a lock and an old bridge, making every visit a little more memorable.
The trailhead features ample gravel parking that is typically available on weekdays. There is a portable toilet on-site for visitors’ convenience. Be prepared for nature’s elements; after rain, the trails can get muddy, so appropriate footwear is recommended, and bug spray is advised during warmer months. While the site is not a formal dog park with fenced enclosures, it is a dog-friendly trail area where leashed dogs are welcome, making it an excellent choice for pet owners who love the outdoors.
Really neat area to walk. Just wear boots if it has rained in the previous days. Bug spray would be good to have too! Neat area to see a lock and old bridge.
