Beautiful trail (#533). Starts out as gravel, turns into stone and root path. There are many rocks and if it’s wet, they will be slick. There were some muddy areas. The trail is mostly flat (no incline). Only went approx. 1 mile in.

Beautiful God’s Country & we enjoyed the mountainous view! We were informed hunting is allowed (archery only). We never knew that. There is no cell service in the area, but we took a lot of pictures to remember the greatness. Enjoy your trip up here.

It’s like entering another world. Lot of myst when I was there for Autumn Equinox. Plenty of campgrounds at the start of the hike near the top of Spruce Knob. Side excursions off the main trail lead you to great views. Ran into this cute Eastern newt (red-spotted newt).

No spectacular views if you start from spruce knob. Mostly mushy path since it was rainy. You can join Lumberjack trail after about 5 miles of hike to go further to a plane crash site. Huckleberry trail is not a loop.
