Leonardo Beach Dog-Friendly Area in Leonardo, NJ

Leonardo Beach is a scenic spot located in Leonardo, New Jersey, and offers expansive beach access with stunning views of the New York City skyline. While not a traditional fenced dog park, this pet-friendly area is a popular destination for dog owners seeking a relaxed, natural environment to enjoy walks along the beach and take in the sunrise with their furry friends. The beach’s rustic and open setting is ideal for adventurous dogs and owners who appreciate exploring the great outdoors.

Visitors should be aware that the beach has a rocky shoreline, occasional remains of local wildlife like horseshoe crabs, and unique features such as a visible sewage pipe. Great place to watch the sunrise. I found a bunch of different things from remains of horseshoe crabs, to a whole watch. Beautiful place overall.

Pretty awesome beach. Lots of dead horseshoe crabs everywhere but it was pretty cool. I love the beach and I can see the New York skyline way off in the distance. We were just there and took a detour here to see the ocean and skyline in the distance. Definitely worth it.

Water is grayish and cloudy. Huge sewage pipe is right on beach. Not for good swimming. Sand is rocky. Mosquitos are more than other beaches which drove me crazy. Toilet at the entrance is disgusting. Sprint and T-Mobile subscribers got no signal in the beach.
