Culpeper War Memorial Park is a welcoming green space located in the heart of Culpeper, Virginia. Known for its thoughtfully designed memorials honoring local veterans, this park is not only a place of remembrance but also a family- and pet-friendly destination. With wheelchair accessible entrances and parking, as well as open grassy areas, it’s a convenient spot for both local residents and visitors seeking a dog-friendly park in Culpeper.
Bring your dog along for a relaxed stroll or a peaceful afternoon, as the park allows leashed pets. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly atmosphere, though please note there are no restroom facilities available. The park’s location and welcoming environment make it a lovely choice for a quick walk, picnic (watch your belongings), or gathering with your furry companion.
Nice park. Just a word of caution there is no restroom
A fitting monument to local service men. Grass needed a cut but it was all in good condition.
Thoughtfully designed memorial to local WWII veterans that were Spain during the war. The presidential quotes are really good finishing touches to the installation.
I used to love coming here until I decided to bring my 3 girls to do a picnic and an Easter egg hunt. While hiding the eggs, not only did some VERY rude lady who lived in a house next to the park say something to me about hiding the eggs where we were because it was her property (which you would have never known) but how/what could a 7, 8 & 9 year old hurt??? NOTHING but grass and trees besides the little stream but either way🙄 Mind you it looks like part of the park!! I just couldn’t believe how nasty she was towards little ones and an Easter egg hunt. But not only did that happen, there were some other kids there who decided to go to our picnic blanket and start stealing our stuff!! Because I didn’t want to drop any eggs I left some at our picnic area (where there was absolutely NOT ONE person) these kids were opening the eggs taking my kids candy and toys out of the eggs! They couldn’t have been much older then my eldest daughter whom is 9! WHERE ARE THESE KIDS PARENTS!?! It’s SOOOO sad that you can’t take your children to a PARK for them to have some fun and to enjoy a beautiful day because they these kids nowadays have no home training!! I still haven’t been able to fathom this! But I wouldn’t recommend leaving ANYTHING where you’re not because NOTHING and no where seems to be safe at all anymore, unfortunately 💔😞
As a Veteran I’m always proud to see a community honor its Veterans. I’m not originally from from Culpeper and have only lived for 3 years, but I’m proud that we have this to Honor those who gave there lives for us.
