Green Harbor Beach, also known to locals as Burke Beach, is a beautiful, dog-friendly spot in Marshfield, Massachusetts. This scenic location is famed for its wide, sandy beaches, stunning sunrises, and a unique rock jetty perfect for walking and exploring. The beach offers a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for both residents and visitors seeking a tranquil experience close to Boston. With dog-friendly policies, it’s a favorite for pet owners looking to enjoy the sand and shallow, crystal-clear water with their pups.
While there are no dedicated off-leash or fenced dog park areas, the beach is pet-friendly and perfect for gentle walks and water play, especially in the off-season. Amenities include a public parking lot (with a daily fee and resident restrictions), portable restrooms, trash cans, and occasional food trucks during weekends. Parking can be limited and is often strictly enforced, making it important to plan ahead. This sandy escape is family- and dog-friendly, offering a peaceful outing with picturesque views and easy access from nearby Marshfield neighborhoods.
I love this beach. The tide goes way way out, perfect for my friend who needs a cane to walk. A short walk from parking lot to lifeguard station then a few feet in soft pristine white sand then hundreds of feet of packed sand making it easy for my friend.
Parking at the Lobster Pound where you can park for NULL. A short walk over the bridge that kids jump off to the entrance of the beach. Port-a-Potty’s and trash canes at entrance of wooden walkway that is lengthened by a plastic walkway.
Also a person here to answer any questions you may have and to make sure only residents with stickers can park, which is only fair. On weekends a food truck parks at the entrance for affordable snacks and lunches.
The beach is clean not that many Seagulls, no Horseflies.
A perfect crystal clear water with no rocks also a sandbar which keeps it safe. Tide comes in around 3 pm.
I highly recommend this beautiful beach also known by locals as Burke Beach

Good sand, great rock jeti to walk out on
Cons- 1 public parking lot that holds about 20 cars and charges NULL weekday, NULL weekend.. Every car I saw parked down on a side street already had a ticket.

Beautiful and serene place to watch the sun rise. Dog friendly! A very cool rock jetty. Mostly resident only parking though.
