Wannamaker Dog Park

Wannamaker Dog Park is a well-maintained and spacious dog park featuring separate areas for small and large dogs, along with a splash pad where both groups can play together. It has good accessibility with wheelchair accessible entrance and parking. The park offers paved and unpaved hiking trails, picnic tables, restrooms, and a dog wash station. The park is praised for its shaded areas, safety, and a friendly environment for dogs and their owners. There is a peaceful natural green space nearby, and day passes are affordable. Some visitors wish for additional water features for dogs that don’t prefer the splash pad.

Great dog park. I do wish they had a pool in there for dogs that don’t like the splash pad. Doesn’t even have to be deep. Other than that the park is great.

My dog loves coming here. We feel safe and it is well kept. She loves the splash pad.

Really wonderful dog park. It has a small dog side and a large dog side. And then in the middle it has a splash pad for dogs. Both sizes can play together in the splash pad. Over by the restrooms there is also a dog wash.

Met at the dog park with a Meetup group. Beautiful paved trails for a drizzly day! They also have unpaved trails. Didn’t know so much gorgeous green space was available so close! They have paddle boats to rent as well. Very cool. Dog park was HUGE!
Highly recommend NULL per person for a day pass.

Really well maintained area. Nicely shaded areas provided by large awnings in both the splash and play areas. 2 separate areas, one for under 20 and the other for larger dogs however, the water area is quite small and in a circle which doesn’t provide any type of “break-in space” for first-timers. Introduced our 2 year old Schnoodle to the splash area on a leash as he is very skiddish meeting dogs for the first time but warms up quickly. Unfortunately with the water area being so small he just wasn’t able to relax so after trying to dodge the bombardment of the dogs that were not told to “play elsewhere” by their owners, literally not one command such as “hey get over here, stay by me” so….. It’s truly a shame that the dogs were actually far friendlier than their owners. I so wanted him to enjoy playing whilst staying cool in the HOT Lowcountry heat. May try again and hang out in the play area waiting for a time that no other dogs are in the splash paws area.
