York Dog Park offers an outdoor, welcoming space for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails and dog-friendly hiking opportunities near York, Maine. The park is located only a short walk from a convenient, wheelchair-accessible parking lot, making access simple for visitors of all abilities. With woodlands surrounding the area and its proximity to Rt 95, visitors and their four-legged companions can enjoy a peaceful stroll through natural undergrowth, perfect for adventurous pups.
The park accepted dogs and is known for its open space and natural environment. While recent changes have impacted the landscaping, with fewer trees and rockscaping than before, many still find it a suitable place for letting their dogs roam and play. Please note that there are no water fountains or trash facilities on-site, and it is recommended to bring water and waste disposal supplies. A short walk from the parking area leads you into the dog park’s main area, where dogs can run off leash and socialize.
This used to be a gorgeous Dogpark with beautiful trees and rockscaping , someone got the idea that it would be great to tear out all of the trees and the rockscaping and make it a giant mud pit. They took a gorgeous place and made it absolutely disgusting. I will never go back.
Park is overgrown woodlands and is literally a stone’s throw from Rt 95. No water, no trash, heavy undergrowth- about a 1/4 mile walk from the parking
