Augusta Dog Park
Augusta Dog Park is a moderately sized park with separate areas for small and large dogs, though the gate between them may not always be closed. The small dog area is grassy, while the large dog section is mostly dirt. The park features picnic tables, a bench in a shed providing some shelter, and water pools for dogs. It is wheelchair accessible and good for kids, but the park could benefit from some maintenance as grass is worn away and the smell can be unpleasant due to smoking and dog odors. Bags and trash bins are located outside the fenced area.

It’s a place dogs can go and run around, sniff each other’s butt’s and hump each other. I was kinda disappointed i couldn’t get any of the dogs to sniff my butt and they growled at me when I tried to sniff theirs. I wonder if they thought I was a republican?

I dont go often living in winthrop but the dogs love it when we do go. The dogs we have come across have been good dogs. There’s pools water for the dogs. Good little place. People just need to learn how to pick up their animals poop.
This park is big enough for the necessities but maybe not much more. The whole thing is less than a third of an acre. Originally it had a big dog section and small dog section, but today it looked like the gate between the two would but close on demand. There is a bench in a shed, and a picnic table in the big dog side. The small dog side was grassy, the big dog side is mostly sand/dirt. Potential for a nice river view if you’re in the right spot.
This dog park has been hard-used and needs some TLC. Grass is mostly gone on the large dog side, and mostly only dirt remains (small dog side is better)
Water spigot, bags, and trash are outside the fence.
Despite the no smoking sign, there was someone smoking in the park when we got there and the park smelled like a mixture of pee and cigarettes.
