Barry Park in Syracuse, New York offers a beautiful and well-maintained space for dog owners and families alike. This pet-friendly park features ample parking, scenic walking trails around a nearby pond, and peaceful wooded paths that are perfect for dog-friendly hikes or relaxing strolls. Whether you’re a local resident or visiting the Eastwood or Westcott neighborhoods, Barry Park is a favorite spot for daily walks, thanks to its clean grounds and friendly community atmosphere.
In addition to being a great destination for walking your dog, Barry Park has a playground and sports facilities (tennis and badminton courts), making it an excellent choice for families with children. Although the park is highly rated for its cleanliness and upkeep, dogs must be kept on leash as per Syracuse city and county regulations, which are clearly posted. While there isn’t a designated off-leash area or fenced dog run, the open spaces and trails are ideal for leashed adventures with your pup.

Great park! Love the trail around the detention pond (technically across the street from the park, but close enough), or used to. Wish we could still go there, but the entitled leash law scofflaws pretty much took over. Apparently it’s somehow our problem when their dogs run up on us, despite the clear and well-posted city and county on-leash requirements. Too bad.

Newest discovery since my recent move to the Eastwood area. Absolute most favorite new place to take my dog! Massive park that we haven’t even been to half of yet because the Beautiful walking path around the water and hidden woods trails are glorious enough for my pup and I! Well maintained from what I can tell. Loads of parking that spans nearly the length of the place. Lovely sunset views. Friendly people. Excited to have it close and see how it looks in the winter!
