🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Somers Dog Park is conveniently located right off Route 100 in Somers, New York, next door to Mama LaRosa restaurant. The park features two separate fenced areas, one designated for small dogs (39 lbs and below) and another for larger dogs (above 40 lbs), making it a suitable spot for owners seeking a safe place for their pets to play off-leash with similar-sized friends. With open ground and plenty of parking, it’s easy for visitors to access and navigate.
While the park is spacious and simple, some visitors note that there is minimal shade and no running water available for dogs, so bringing your own water is recommended. Seating is available via benches, and the easy-to-find location makes this dog park an accessible option for locals. Though basic in its amenities, Somers Dog Park remains a practical and well-located choice for dog owners in Westchester County looking for an off-leash park.
A few people don’t control their dogs which causes problems for others. Example: One dog peeing on all of the posts and chairs and even other dogs. Not going back.

The biggest drawback to this Dog Park is it’s way too small. There’s no shade for humans or dogs and there’s no running water for the dogs to drink so that’s a big problem. The second thing is I find a lot of the people are extremely nosy and not very friendly I’ll take Ridgefield Connecticut or Danbury Dog Park any day of the week.

This is the worst dog park I have ever visited.
Frankly, it’s embarrassing for the town to have a park like this …..to SOMERS it’s just a piece of land that had no other use. Not kept up well just poor grass and dirt. Take a look at Yorktown park or any other. Forget for a minute it’s more expensive….it’s just a fenced in area with a couple of benches.. Dogs are the same everywhere….if your dog is friendly he’s friendly…
he will be friendly at all parks. NOTHING SPECIAL FOR DOGS HERE. I have 2 dogs … 1 rescue and
Merlin a 185 pound Newfie. Both friendly.
Those who give this dog park any stars has probably
not gone to other parks. At least (the park) i is easy to find. That’s the only star.

Absolutely loved that it was divided for smaller and larger dogs. It’s big and perfect for dogs.
