Northlake Dog Park is a well-maintained, pet-friendly destination located conveniently along Midland Trail in Northlake, Illinois. Known for its cleanliness and scenic surroundings, this park provides ample space for dogs to run, play, and socialize off-leash in a secure, fenced area. With its local permitting system, the park ensures that only registered visitors with appropriate documentation, such as a rabies tag and a county-issued pass, can access the park. This feature offers peace of mind for owners seeking a well-regulated environment.
While the park offers lots of open space and is a big hit with local dogs of all sizes, visitors should be aware that access requires an uphill walk to owner seating areas, and the park is permit-only, which means out-of-town guests need to secure a pass ahead of time. Onsite security and routine maintenance add to the park’s reputation for cleanliness and order. Northlake Dog Park is an excellent choice for Northlake locals seeking a safe, off-leash area for their furry companions to enjoy the outdoors.

My husband and I are from out of town and we’re looking for a dog park for our pup to go play and run. We get there and there is a sign that says “permit required” I’m thinking seriously?! For a dog park? They had a park security guy driving around and my husband went to explain our situation to see if they would let us in. He said wait there and he will talk to his supervisor. 5 minutes later a code enforcement officer shows up and parks there, waiting for us to enter without a permit. Talk about entrapment. What a joke. My poor pup just wanted to play with another dog. You punished her for no reason. Don’t waste your time coming here unless you have a permit. Although I dunno why you would support a place like this…and they have it padlocked!

Not for visitors or anyone who can’t walk uphill. This is the only dog park I’ve ever been to where the places for owners to sit is at the top of a steep hill. My mother had to just sit in the car. Also it says only owners with a park pass issued by the county upon receiving rabbis tag can be in this dog park.
