If you’re looking for a quiet, well-maintained park to enjoy outdoor time with your pup, Carterville Park in Provo, Utah is a great choice. Located just behind Walmart on the Provo/Orem border, this community park features spacious grassy areas, mature trees providing plenty of shade, and several reservable pavilions ideal for family events or casual gatherings.
Dog owners will appreciate the park’s pet-friendly vibe. The paved 0.25 mile walking trail is perfect for leisurely strolls or getting active with your dog. There’s ample open space for your pup to play (on leash), and you’ll also find sand volleyball, basketball courts, and a baseball field onsite. With plenty of shade and quiet corners, Carterville Park is one of Provo’s best-kept secrets for dogs and their families looking for a peaceful outing.
Lived in Provo for 9 years and did not know this park existed till this we were invited this weekend for a birthday. Such a cute park. I love the pavilion!

This park is a kind of hidden park. Great for a quiet picnic or a quiet walk. Lots of shade to pick from. Picnic areas available too. Very well kept up.
Definitely hidden from away in Provo/Orem border.

This park, I’ll admit… is a little tricky to find! From the map, it would look like it is right next to Walmart, in Provo… but it is a little bit behind it.
After finding it though, my puppy loved it! (She didn’t like the other dogs that were there, but she’s working on that.) This park has a lot of areas that you can reserve for family events, as well as a sand volleyball court(Although one of the metal poles is missing) …it also has a great little baseball field. It ALSO has a basketball court! Really though, I think this place is a great little community park… and I wish there were parks like this within walking distance of every home.
The BIG feature about this place, is that there is a walkway, that is .25 miles… so, just walk around the nice little park 4 times, and you’ve completed a mile (Or, you can walk around the park 1 time, taking pictures of your dog… and .25 mile =7 dog miles… right? hehe)
Great place! And I’ll be trying to visit this place a lot more the future… and if you look closely at my pictures, you’ll find cute little pictures of the #1 cutest dog on here. (Okay, okay… feel free to dispute that… but do you have dog pictures at this park?haha!)
