Huge dog park. Plenty of room for the dogs to run.

It’s a great dog park BUT a small dog park needs to be built for the little guys. Can’t mix 100 pound dogs with 10 pound guys, my dogs would definitely run them over. Maybe change the rules of bringing in toys as well, I’ve picked up multiple toys that were all torn up laying around. Half of a tennis ball, destroyed plastic toys etc. It’s not clean and not good if a dog swallowed something.

Beautiful and well kept park! Lots of space for dogs to run and play! We did see a Black Racer snake in the back so keep your eyes open if you go near the forested area

Back in the 1980s & 1990’s, this park used to be a large natural swimming pool with a lot of sand. It was very popular with families stationed at Ft Eustis during the summers.
Update: It appears the sand pool was open until 2007. When a toddler drowned that year, it was closed. Additionally, the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, became law and the sand pool could not reopen as it was not compliant with new safety regulations.

My dog loves this place. Once we get there, she runs and doesn’t stop til we head out. Thankfully, most people pick up after their dog, so when I have no one to watch my daughter, she likes to run around with our dog too.
