Located conveniently at 23050 Mulholland Hwy, the Dog Park in Calabasas offers a friendly, pet-loving atmosphere for residents and visitors looking for a place to let their dogs run and socialize off-leash. Known for its wood chip grounds, ample space, and welcoming dog-owner community, this park is a popular choice for regulars in the early mornings, after work, and on weekends. With wheelchair accessible entrances and parking, it’s designed to be inclusive for everyone.
This dog park features a secure, fenced area where both owners and pets can feel safe. There is a water fountain for dogs (and humans), benches for sitting, ample parking, and a dedicated small/shy dog area that can be closed off if needed. While the park boasts sprinklers for grass, shade may be limited depending on the day, so visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, especially during hotter months. The park is kept relatively clean, thanks to both the city’s maintenance and considerate users. With its proximity to local pet-friendly trails and hiking areas, it’s a great stop for Los Angeles-area dog lovers seeking outdoor adventures in Calabasas.
No water and no shade. Big with wood chips. Relatively clean…picked up a few piles that neglectful people left. Very hot…not good in the summer ie mid day
I have been coming here for close to a year. There are regulars in the early AM, after-work PM, and on weekends. Nice folks for the most part. Sweet dogs, too.
There is considerable shade, as well as a water fountain for both humans and dogs, which make this park really work. The City has made some good improvements, such as replenishing the wood chips and installing sprinklers for the grass area. Park size is small enough that if your dog needs you, you can get to them fairly quickly.
When the dogs start racing around, I highly recommend that you stand against a bench, tree, or the fence, as I have seen people get accidentally knocked down. Small children should be kept close for this reason.
Small/shy dog area is usually open to the main area, but you may close the connecting gate as you see fit.
Grass area is only open on weekends and holidays from April through November.
Rules say that only neutered adult dogs are allowed. Occasionally, an unneutered male or female acts aggressively or incites amorous behaviors.
Please don’t bring treats into the park! The dogs get too jumpy and excited, and may tear your clothes or knock you down.
In hot weather, the park is empty mid-day.
I wish more people came here and the dogs were more playful! It is spacious with ample parking, but no shade or water. Couple benches and tons of balls, so that’s all the dogs even care about. People who come here are super nice though and so are the dogs!
Nice little park. Took my foster pup there when it was empty for her to run around a bit
Very nice Park: clean, secure, there’s a water fountain for the pups. The experience depends entirely on how many other dogs show up; sometimes not enough to.
