Dormont Dog Park offers a convenient paved space for local dogs and their owners in the Pittsburgh area. Located within Dormont Park, this dog park features separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, which helps ensure a safer experience for canines of all sizes. The entire dog park is paved, making it a low-mud option, though owners should be mindful of paw comfort, especially during hot or cold weather.
The park is noted for its plentiful shade from surrounding trees and the presence of a covered pavilion, perfect for events or escaping the sun during warmer months. There are waste bag dispensers and trash bins available, making it easy to keep the area clean. However, some reviews note that fencing and maintenance could be improved, and parking is limited. While it may not have grassy areas or extensive trails, its separate dog sections and easy access may be ideal for dog owners seeking a straightforward dog-friendly spot in Pittsburgh.
Everything is overgrown, the fence needs fixed separating the small vs large dog area. If you’re looking to take your dog to a nice park, this ain’t it. Just go to the South Side. Their’s is much nicer.

The areas are paved so your dog will not get muddy. There are separate small and large dog areas. The only downfall is that there are some gaps in the fence doors that were attempted to be covered with mesh but some mesh is broken so a small dog could definitely go between the small and large dog areas and escape out the back of the large dog area.

The Pavillion here is very nice for events. The terrain around it, not so much. It’s very steep hills in every direction except for the playground. That was on level ground. Parking is not very good either. Bathrooms were just ok. Could have been much cleaner.

As others have said, this is completely paved. Not good for dog’s joints or paw pads to be running and playing on. Would be nice if there was grass or dirt. Such a let down because the rest of Dormont park is beautiful.
