Cute neighborhood park with spectacular views of mountains, and the San Fernando Valley. Playground and walking/hiking trails, but no bathrooms.

Love this park! Reminds me of my childhood with the old school playground and giant caliper seen in the ET movie! Has about 5 regular swings and 2 swings for little kids. Also there is a basketball court above on the hill. Perfect get away to feel like your out of the “valley” or if you just need green in your life. You will see people and dogs.

I love this experience at Porter Ridge Park where the famous Steven Spielberg movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was filmed at. They all met up and took off on the bikes and that’s the famous scene. I love the Caterpillar in the playground since the blockbuster movie was released on June 11th, 1982.

This picturesque park, known for its lush greenery and scenic views, is a beloved local treasure. It gained fame as a filming location for the iconic 1982 film “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.” One of the movie’s memorable scenes, where the boys meet up on their bikes, was shot here. The park still features the iconic caterpillar playground, a nostalgic reminder of its cinematic history. With its well-maintained pathways, vibrant flower beds, and ample recreational spaces, the park remains a favorite spot for families, film enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.

A few picnic tables. Some open and flat space on the upper levels. Decent playground, jungle for the kids. Didn’t see any bathrooms. Good tree cover, enough real estate to get some steps in and some decent views. Basketball court and of course, the E.T. caterpillar.
