Lovely walk with pretty good signage. Even though the freeway noise is audible, it was still fun. Birds and spring wildflowers abundant. Free.

Beautiful, serene mostly undiscovered treasure. Great views of the noon sun, especially on nice autumn days, but be watchful of the walnut trees (there are tons of them) on breezy ones. They were dropping bombs on me all day.

Wonderful little hidden gem, right outside of Hudson. This 1.75 mile trail covers several types of ground, and is easily navigated by amateurs. It starts off with a slight uphill quarter mile hike through the woods, then a moderately rapid descent into some beautiful low lying water areas. A short jaunt along a slow moving creek gives way to the first bridge you must cross. After that, it circles around for about a half mile and you cross back over the same bridge and follow the second part of the trail. From there, it’s up into some gorgeous prairie grass area for about a quarter mile, then back down into the woods for the last stretch. Great trail for the entire family. We frequent this location, and often complete it in 45 minutes at a slow to moderate pace. Highly recommended. Just don’t tell all your friends…. we like the solitude. 🙂
